SASS Rule Changes Effective December 7, 2015

 

To pass, an item must receive 66% of the votes For. Less than 66% and more than 50%, means the item failed but can be re-introduced and the next TG Summit as an agenda item.

SASS Rules Changes

Long guns "closed/open" issue:  (from 11th Convention, Dec. 2013) 
  • Long guns will be cleared and discarded with barrels pointing safely downrange. If the action of a long gun closes after being cleared then the competitor will, at the conclusion of the stage, show it to be clear to the TO. No person other than the competitor may handle the long gun prior to opening the action and showing the long gun to be clear. Appropriate penalties will apply if the long gun is not clear.

Stage Trail Stages

The stages for the Stage Trail Shootout are at the bottom of the page.  Our registration raffle is a Silver Stag knife.  We have two guns up for raffle and several other prizes.  We plan on starting the safety meeting at 8:30 so we can get the whole shoot done before lunch.  Hope for good weather this year.

Stage Trail Quigley Big Bore Rifle Shoot

The Big Bore shoot will be Saturday Jun 25th.  Registration is at 9:00 and the shoot will start at 9:30.  This is for all Cowboy (pre-1900 style) rifle caliber rifles.  All lead bullets, 1800 fps max.  Eight classes - men and women's smokeless and black powder, lever action and single shot rifles)

Course of fire is 10 shots off cross-sticks at 100 yards at a 16 inch bucket target.  10 shots at 200 yards off cross-sticks at a 16 inch bucket target.  5 shots at 200 yards at a whiskey bot...
